I think that it is obsolete to discuss the actuality of a marriage in modern times right here. Why? Because women from the former Soviet Union can not come an STAY in the West without marriage. So, they can visit EU countries or Switzerland for maximum (usually) 3 months. That is no option for a serious relationship.
