Keith, it is maybe "out of fashion" in your opinion, but the ladies here are sometimes in an awkward position: their behavioural heritage opposes to take the first step; that is expected from men. But, a lot of men here are "don't-you-dare-to-act-inapropriate" types, rather waiting and looking. Considering the disproportional numbers of women versus men on such sites, it is clear, that ladies need something to make men aware that they have noticed them and considered interesting.
