You are absolutely right that things cost money but to someone that has just met them it is pretty RUDE to ask for money right away. Also maybe I believe in a different world than you do but I thought in today's world women broke the old stereotypes of "stay home, cook, clean and service" their husbands. I cook too...i clean too. I can do laundry and do homework and coach sports. Beauty is only as deep as a persons skin..not deep at all. I know many Russian or Ukrainian women that are good friends or wives of even my Russian friends and they all have too much pride to ask for money right away. Of I was married to the woman or traveled to see her you her I would pay for everything. And I have...and when i sent money for expenses the money was held and given back to me...where upon I have it back or went shopping to treat her. If I understand what you are writing then why have any woman to to college...why not just send her shopping, get her pregnant and keep her home as a domestic slave.  No thanks...I will choose an educated woman and give her the choice to work or not. If not...what is mine is hers. There is a joke about beautiful woman that are high maintenance..." what is mine is theirs and what's theirs is theirs."
