You have got to be kidding me. The man gets lied to and you want to blame him for it...sorry that is nonsense. She lied for the simplest reason there is, because it is easier to tell an easy lie than admit a hard truth. It does not matter that she was afraid it would hurt him because if that is the person you want to spend your life with you have to trust that you can say the hard thing to them and not have it end the relationship, that is part of being in a relationship, you fight, you argue, you get thru it but you don't lie, that only makes things worse. Asking about each others life, past and future is part of getting to know somebody, if somebody cannot be honest about it that speaks to their insecurity, that does not make the question inappropriate. It also does not make John a jealous person for being angry about being lied to, it makes him human...when you put your faith in someone and they take advantage of that, it it is a betrayal. Even when a woman is dead wrong some of you will jump to defend her, that is crazy.
