My great grandma spoke with me Polish. I stayed with her. In my family we used mix Russian-Polish-German. When I studied at school my teachers and classmates in Soviet Union said me: Speak normal Russian! I can't say some Russian sounds all my life. When I lived in Ukraine I was an active member of Polish community so the biggest my friends with whom I had conversation were from Poland and spoke Polish language. Now when I speak with my Mom she uses our mix, I try to speak Russian but she said that I made many mistakes. If she agreed I spoke English. She has good abilities to languages. Moreover, she spent some time in Finland where she spoke English, too. All my 4 grandchildren knew English, so I use this language for conversation with them when I called them
