Honestly who cares. It is not the job of any one of us to tell another they are unrealistic or that they are not entitled to go after what they want. If they are unrealistic the market will bear that out for them over time and they will either adjust their demands or they won't but there may well be a girl who finds him to be everything she's wanted and their chemistry is off the charts in which case he would have only hurt himself to sell himself short right...nobody is going to think we are worth what we want if we don't believe it ourselves. He wasn't for you, fair enough, move on... but time is wasted nitpicking or tearing people apart...that you spent time deciding all the reasons he is wrong for wanting what he wants and picking apart his flaws says more about you than it does about him
