I think it is all about standards which men set to women. We all are eager to achieve better life, men want to have beautiful and healthy woman, women want to have a man who is capable to maintain family. I have some doubt that you click on photo of an ordinary woman with glasses on, instead you click on a bright beaty blondy who catches your eye. It is all about modern standards between men and women.
