My dear Svetlana, this story is sad, but to every bad thing there is a good side. In your case that you got hurt only a little bit. Imagine if you met him, fell in love, decided to move there, give up your job and your apartment and at that stage this thing happened. It would have been devastating. Don't try to blame circumstances or the embassy or anything other than this man. If I wanted to make a new life with a lady, I would move a mountain if I had to. His excuses are pathetic. This man is a coward and a fool and not worthy of your tears! Good luck for the future.
