Randy, the Russian girls are stylish in general. The fact that they want to look nice does not make them gold diggers. Many Western woman are so casual in their dress that we have gotten too used to it. Frankly I prefer a more casual style on my girl, but not a sloppy look like we often see here in the US. And I don't want my girl to dress like a man either.
Probably the pictures you saw are from holidays (great events in Slavic culture) and dressy clothes and champagne are the norm for everyone!
Granted there are some girls here that only want money. I have come across several. But lots of good girls here too also with hearts of gold.
