Skype is a tool that has definite advantages. It does not replace a meeting, but is useful to build the connection. You can see into the other person's world. You can see their emotions and reactions to you and you can have casual conversation that writing does not capture. And even better, with Skype and a translation program, you can write and translate what you are saying so it is understandable even if there is a language barrier. I highly recommend its use once you find someone you like to learn more about them.
