This problem seems to be gathering more and more momentum in the West. People seem to develop an entitlement mentality. Instead of working for success, they begin to be taught and then believe that just by showing up, they are special somehow. I read a book that offered a hypothesis: if you stopped 100 people on the street and asked them, "What are you doing in life to guarantee your failure?", most would be shocked. But follow those same 100 people after 20 years and maybe 4 of them are actually successful. You can get better odds than that in Las Vegas.
