Sadly, there are many many scammers and people who are not honest. It is on both sides of the site, men and women. I was recently surprised to find that one girl with whom i had been corresponding for a short time was using her friend's profile. Just one example of people playing games. At one time I took offense if I would write a letter to a woman and not even receive a response. Now I realize there are people on a site such as this for many reasons. But the point is that this is just a tool to find your second half. It does not guarantee anything, but it helps to widen the possibilities. In meeting a person around the world or in your backyard, there is always the chance they are not serious, are a liar or just playing games. All I can do, all I can advise to anyone here is to be yourself, be honest and be open. And if some fool breaks your heart, then it was not you that was the problem. The problem lies with them. And though it hurts, you grieve, compose yourself and begin the search again, because even if you heart is broken 99 times, you must try again for love. The end result is certainly worth the effort, pain, struggle and sacrifice.
