I assume that there has developed a huge misunderstanding:

When we look at André's initial post, he asked who should pay INITIALLY. And I dare think that we can ALL agree that it's down to the man to cover and pay for the first date and the first meeting.

It is a VERY different issue with paying bills and makingg ends meet after dating in a relationship. If the man AND the woman BOTH work, have an income and a budget to work with, it is only FAIR that both contribute - also financially. That is called "shared responsibility" and is a cornerstone of any stable relationship based on choice, and not some antiquated trash like "a man must pay. Always. Because he is a man", I feel the violent urge to vomit. 'Women' who think like that better remain single forever. They don't deserve a man, a relationship or children.
